Our student ministry team is passionate about partnering with middle and high school students as they walk with Christ and join in God’s mission.
As students enter this formative period in their lives, West Jackson Students desires to create a space for students to grow in their faith. Through Sunday morning community groups, Wednesday night gatherings, and frequent retreats, we encourage students to pursue God in all that they do, equip them to become mature believers of Jesus Christ, and teach them how to build disciples within their community. West Jackson Students is passionate about students taking hold of the Gospel, and desires for every student in the city of Jackson to come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Meet Our Ministry Team
Josh Ward, Student Pastor
Josh is married to Kelsey and grew up at West Jackson. He has a heart for the local church and for helping students take their next step in their relationship with Jesus Christ. His passion for students revolves around them understanding more about who God is, and what God has called them to do. He has a vision for connecting students with godly adult volunteers who can disciple those students into followers of Christ. His goal for student ministry is to train students to go out into the world to reach others for Christ, and to fall in love with serving God and the local church.
Mandy Wilson, Girls Minister
Mandy is a native of Jackson, Tennessee and loves every bit of this city. She attended Union University where she graduated in 2019. At her high school summer camp in 2014, Mandy felt an undeniable call to full-time ministry, specifically to teen girls. With a passion for encouraging teen girls in their walk with Christ, she finds the greatest joy in adding a new sister to the family of Christ. In addition to that, she desires for the girls in her ministry to find their worth in who their Creator says they are and nothing else. Mandy loves her job and feels so humbled to know that she has been placed here for a purpose.
