Meet Our Ministry Team

Josh Ward, Student Pastor

Josh is married to Kelsey and grew up at West Jackson. He has a heart for the local church and for helping students take their next step in their relationship with Jesus Christ. His passion for students revolves around them understanding more about who God is, and what God has called them to do. He has a vision for connecting students with godly adult volunteers who can disciple those students into followers of Christ. His goal for student ministry is to train students to go out into the world to reach others for Christ, and to fall in love with serving God and the local church.

Mandy Wilson, Girls Minister

Mandy is a native of Jackson, Tennessee. She attended Union University where she graduated in 2019 with a degree in Psychology and Christian Ministry and Missions. At her high school summer camp in 2014, Mandy felt an undeniable call to full-time ministry, specifically to teen girls. With a passion for encouraging teen girls in their walk with Christ, she finds the greatest joy in adding a new sister to the family of Christ. In addition to that, she desires for girls to find their worth in their Creator and live their life to serve Him wholeheartedly.

Owen Westbrooks, Student Ministry Worship Associate

Owen is from Metropolis, Illinois and is attending Union University to study Worship Leadership.  In 2018, Owen felt the call to full time Worship Ministry at a church planting mission trip in Chicago.  His hope is to see students grow in their relationships with Christ and live with a posture of worship.  Owen loves student ministry because of the impact it has had on his own life and is thrilled to serve the students of West Jackson.

Allison Teel, Student Ministry Girls Associate

Allison is from Jackson, Tennessee. She is currently attending Union University studying Social Work. Allison found a love of ministry through several mission trips in her life. She has felt drawn to girls ministry because of the large impact that women in the student ministry have had on her. She wants to see girls grow in their faith and confidence through Christ. West Jackson Student Ministry has been a large part of Allison’s life and she is excited to have the opportunity to give back.

Michael Garber, Student Ministry Guys Associate

Michael is from Memphis, Tennessee. He is currently attending Union University as a Business Management major. Michael felt the call to full-time vocational ministry his junior year of high school at a student retreat. He has a passion for extending student ministry outside of the church walls by bringing the Gospel to those that are lost. He has a desire to teach students to love God wholeheartedly so that they can teach others to do the same.
