What is Worship?
The LORD is worthy of worship, as the one true and living God. We were made to worship Him. Worship can be defined as our response to who God is and what He has done, both as our Creator and Redeemer. According to Romans 12:1-2, our spiritual act of worship as believers is to offer our very bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. All of life is an opportunity for us to worship our great God. The very breath in our lungs and the heart beating in our chest means we are alive and able to respond to our Creator.
Our worship as a church is a time where we gather to remember God’s faithfulness and to declare that He has bought us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We have been redeemed from the bondage of our sins and are free to worship the Lord. We do so through singing, praying, giving, preaching, and celebrating the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
